Waze constantly analyzes traffic on the road through its community of drivers worldwide. In addition to regular, daily traffic, Waze locates traffic that is out of the ordinary - meaning the level of traffic isn’t common for that time or day. These unusual traffic jams are what we call, “Unusual traffic events.”
One primary way we communicate to Wazers about unusual traffic is via Twitter feeds. We can notify users about unusual traffic in a given area by either:
Tweeting on one of the Waze Twitter accounts
Tweeting on behalf of Waze partners directly to the partner's Twitter account
