Welcome to Waze Carpool

Google Maps or Moovit matched you with a Waze Carpool driver on your route.

Follow the steps below in your web browser to ask them for a ride.

Your first ride with Waze Carpool is free!

Step 1: If you don’t have a Waze Carpool account, connect with Google

Step 2: Ask your driver for a ride

  1. Optional – This ride is free, but you can tap the ? icon next to the price to see what you would have paid
  2. Tap Ride with driver to continue
  3. Verify your phone number. We use this to send you text message updates about your ride.
  4. Optional – Add a profile photo

I got an error message – “This ride isn’t available”

This happens if:

  • your driver canceled the ride
  • other riders already filled the available seats
  • the time you wanted to ride has already passed

Head back to Google Maps or Moovit and try again, or download the Waze Carpool app (App Store or Play Store) to find more drivers going your way.

Step 3: Get updates on your ride

  1. When your driver accepts, you get an email and/or notification with all the details you'll need, like the pickup location, time, and a number you can call to reach your driver
  2. You get more updates as the pickup time approaches

You can also contact your driver whenever you'd like from the Waze Carpool app (App Store or Play Store).

Once installed, open the app and connect your account to find details of your upcoming ride. You’ll see your driver’s info, and the option to call or text them.

You can also contact your driver whenever you'd like from the Waze Carpool app (App Store or Play Store).

Once installed, open the app and connect your account. Then, go to your ride history to chat with the driver.
