Log in to your Waze account

  1. Open the Waze app on your phone or tablet
  2. Tap Log in
  3. Enter your email id or username or log in with your Google account
  4. Follow the instructions to log in

Why can't I log in to my account?

If you can't log in to your account, check to make sure:
  • There aren't any typos in your email address
  • You've entered your full email address – for example, "username@gmail.com" instead of "username@gmail"
  • Your caps lock is turned off
  • Your keyboard is in the right language

Note: If your email inbox is on another device than the one you're using to log in, do the following:

  1. Open your inbox from a web browser
  2. Open the verification email and tap Verify email. A new tab will open with a verification code.
  3. In Waze, enter the code

Still having issues?

Try one of these options:

  • Log in with another email that isn't your main account
  • If you added a username and password to your account, try entering them instead
  • Consider creating a new Waze account

Why didn't I get a verification email?

 

If you didn’t get a verification email, try the following:

  • Make sure there aren’t any typos in your email address
  • Make sure you’ve entered your full email address – for example, “username@gmail.com” instead of “username@gmail”
  • Make sure you’re in the inbox of the correct email address
  • Check your email’s spam folder for the verification code
  • Search for “noreply@waze.com” in your inbox

Note: If your email inbox is on another device than the one you're using to log in, do the following:

  1. Open your inbox from a web browser
  2. Open the verification email and tap Verify email. A new tab will open with a verification code.
  3. In Waze, enter the code

Why wasn't my email verified?

If you weren't able to verify your email, try the following:

Option 1: Resend verification email

  1. Go back to Waze
  2. Tap Having trouble?
  3. Tap Resend verification email

Using email on your mobile device?

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Tap Verify email

Note: You'll be taken back to the Waze app automatically.

Using email on a web browser?

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Click Verify email. A new browser will open with the code.
  4. Enter the code in Waze

Option 2: Log in with a guest account for now

  1. Go back to Waze
  2. Tap Having trouble?
  3. Tap Continue as guest

Note: Continuing as a guest is a great option if you’re having trouble logging in, but need to use Waze now. However, to create your own personalizable account that you can recover if anything happens, you must verify your email. When you have time later, register your guest account by verifying your email.

Why doesn't the email have a verification code?

When you open the email on your phone, you should be taken to the Waze app automatically, with no need to enter a code. If you're using email on your computer, the code should appear in the body of the email.

Let's try again:

  1. Open Waze on your mobile device
  2. Tap Log in
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Tap Next

Using email on your mobile device?

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Tap Verify email

Note: You'll be taken back to the Waze app automatically.

Using email on a web browser?

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Click Verify email. A new browser will open with the code.
  4. Enter the code in Waze

Why do I need to choose between 2 accounts?

If the email address you entered is already associated with an existing Waze account, you'll be given the option to choose between 2 accounts. To continue, you must choose only one account. The other account will be deleted, including:

Note: You can't merge accounts or recover deleted accounts.

Why can't I log in with Facebook or my phone number?

As of June 2020, you can no longer log in to Waze with your phone number or with your Facebook account. You can log in to Waze with:

  • Your email address
  • Your Waze username and Waze password
  • Your Google account

If you didn't add an email, you'll need to create a new Waze account:

  1. Go back to the screen with the Get started button
  2. Tap Get started
