Listen to your favorite artist, podcast or radio station, as you navigate without having to leave Waze. Waze detects audio players on your device, and shows a mini player where you can play, pause and skip audio directly on the map.
Note: You may need a premium account or a subscription to the audio player app to use this feature on Waze.
Do more with playback controls
When you open the Waze app and navigate to your destination, tap on the map to control your supported audio player:
- Tap Show list to access more content from the audio app, like playlists, radio stations, and saved songs
- Tap Audio apps to switch to another connected audio app
- Tap to hide the playback controls
- Reopen the playback controls by tapping your audio app's logo on the map

I don’t see the audio player icon on the map
You may need to manually turn it on:
- Open Waze
- Tap
- Tap Settings
- Tap Audio player
- Turn on Show on the map
How do I add an audio player app?
If the audio app you want to use isn't already installed on your device:
- Open Waze
- Tap
- Tap Settings
- Tap Audio player
- Under "More apps", next to the app you want, tap Install
Once installed, you can select the audio app directly from the map:
- Tap on the map
- Select an audio player
- Tap Accept
How do I disable an audio player app?
To disconnect an audio app:
- Open Waze
- Tap
- Tap Settings
- Tap Audio player
- Under “Your apps”, tap Disconnect
I want Waze to pause my music during directions and alerts
On Android
- Open Waze
- Tap
- Tap Settings
- Tap Voice and sound
- Turn on Play sound to phone speaker
Tip: If you want voice directions and alerts to play over your music at a slightly higher volume, turn this setting off.
On iOS
