We send push notifications to notify drivers about important events or issues that may affect their commute, such as:
- MTE (Major Traffic Events) and closures - notifications about these events are sent automatically based on location of the user or event.
Customized push and inbox messages - limited to notices about regulatory changes (i.e. road direction changes) or safety related issues (i.e. legal stipulations which require drivers to use winter tires) only.
We use our own criteria to decide which events should get a push notification. If you believe your event meets all criteria and would like a notification to be sent, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. All events are evaluated on a case by case basis and must be sent to Waze at least 2 weeks in advance of the event start date.
If you would like to disable MTE notifications on your phone:
- Tap My Waze, then Settings
- Tap Notifications.
- Toggle OFF Major Traffic Events.
