Record your own voice directions

Get driving instructions in your own voice.

Using Waze in your car? Record voice directions on your phone. Select the voice on your phone, and it'll play in your car. If you're using Android Auto or CarPlay, make sure to disconnect your phone first.

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Under "Current voice," tap the voice that appears
4. Tap New voice
5. Tap OK
6. Tap the phrase you want to record
7. Tap  to start recording and  to stop
8. Tap to play your recording back
9. Tap Save
10. Tap Done in the top-right corner
11. Enter a name for your voice
12. Tap Add

Share your voice recording

Send your voice recording to friends and they'll hear your recorded directions while navigating with Waze. You can only share a voice recording that you're not currently using.

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Under "Current voice," tap the voice that appears
4. Under "Custom voices," find the voice you want to share
5. Swipe left and tap Share
6. Tap Share
7. Select your preferred app and the person you'd like to share the voice with

Delete your voice recording

You can only delete a voice recording that you're not currently using. 

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Under "Current voice," tap the voice that appears
4. Under "Custom voices," find the voice you want to delete
5. Swipe left and tap Edit
6. Tap  against the phrase you want to delete
7. Scroll down and tap Delete voice
8. Tap Delete
