Customize the sound settings on your device to hear voice directions as you navigate.

Set your sound preferences

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Tap Settings
4. Tap Voice and sound
5. Next to "Sounds", select your sound preference:
   • On: Get navigation guidance and alerts
   • Off: No sounds at all
   • Alerts only: Only alerts will play

Update your sound preferences during a drive

1. Tap the sound icon next to your ETA
2. Select your sound preference:
   • Sound off:  No sounds at all
   • Alerts only: Only alerts will play
   • Sound on: Get navigation guidance and alerts
3. Tap OK

Change the volume

1. Open Waze
2. ​Tap
3. Tap Settings
4. Tap Voice and sound
5. Move the "Guidance volume" slider upward or downward to adjust the volume

I can't hear Waze sounds or voices. What do I do?

Step 1: Clear your cache

1. Open Waze
2. In the search bar, enter ##@cctts (all lower case)
3. On your device's keyboard, tap the search icon

Step 2: Reset your voice settings

1. Open Waze
2. Tap
3. Tap Settings
4. Tap Voice and sound
5. Tap Waze voice 
6. Tap the voice you want to use

How can I mute Waze during calls?

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Tap Settings
4. Tap Voice and sound
5. Turn on "Mute Waze during calls"
