Help other Wazers by reporting incidents on your route.
On the Waze map, tap the Report button , and then choose a report type:
Map issue
- Tap Map Issue
- Tap an issue type: General map error, Incorrect turn, Incorrect address, Speed limit, Incorrect route, Missing roundabout or Missing road
- Tap Add a comment to provide more details about your issue
- Tap Send to submit your report, or tap Later to save your report and send it at another time.
Gas prices
- Tap on a gas station from the list
- Enter the updated gas prices
- Tap Send
Note: You must be within a radius of 0.3 miles/500 meters and above the level of a baby Wazer to update gas prices.
Closure
- Tap an arrow to mark a road closure
- Tap Next
- You can categorize the closure as due to a Hazard, Construction or Event
- Tap the camera to take a photo of the closure
- Tap Add a comment to provide more details about the closure
- Tap Duration to specify the time of the closure
- Tap Send to send your report or tap Later to save your report and send it at another time.
Important notes:
- You must be around the area of a road closure to report it.
- The closure will appear on the map only after more Wazers report the same closure. The closure is removed when Wazers start driving on the closed road again.
- Reporting closures is not available on Android Auto or CarPlay.
Hazard
- Tap a hazard type: On road, Shoulder, Weather (Unplowed road, Fog, Hail, Flood, Ice)
- Tap the camera to take a photo of the hazard
- Tap Add a comment to provide more details about the hazard (Not available on Android Auto or CarPlay)
- Tap Send to send your report or tap Later to save your report and send it at another time.
Pave a missing road
- Tap Map Issue
- Tap Pave
- Tap the Pave button and start driving
- Tap Stop when you’re done
- Log in to the Map Editor using your Waze username and password
- Connect the road segment to the relevant location
Note: Pave a missing road is not available on Android Auto or CarPlay.
Traffic jam
- Tap a traffic jam type: Moderate, Heavy, Standstill
- Tap the camera to take a photo of the traffic jam
- Tap Add a comment to provide more details about the traffic jam
- Tap Send to send your report or tap Later to save your report and send it at another time
Police
- Tap Police or Other side if the police is on the other side of the road
- Tap Send to send your report or tap Later to save your report and send it at another time.
Crash
- Tap an accident type: Minor, Major or Other side
- Tap the camera to take a photo of the accident
- Tap Add a comment to provide more details about the accident
- Tap Send to send your report or tap Later to save your report and send it at another time
Place
Take a photo of the exterior of your location so Wazers can easily spot it when they arrive.
Roadside help
- Tap Fellow Wazers to let others know you need help.
- Tap what you need help with:
- Out of gas
- Flat tire
- Battery issue
- Medical issue
- Other

Tap Request. Fellow Wazers will see your location and what you need help with on the map. A roadside help icon will appear. You can tap it to cancel your request.
More options:
- Share your location by messaging apps on your phone by tapping the location button.
- Tap Emergency call to phone the Police Department, Fire Department or ambulance.
Map Chat
Leave a comment on the map for fellow Wazers to see and respond to. You can add a photo and a comment.
Reporting guidelines
- Only report incidents that you see in real time. If you lose internet connection while sending a report, Waze will save the report and automatically submit it once you reconnect to the network.
- Report as close to the actual incident as possible.
- Avoid excessive reporting or your account may be blocked for abuse.
- Don't report planned closures through the Reports button. Instead, you can send an email to waze-closures@google.com.
FAQ
I can’t see the Report button
It might be because the map is not centered. Tap the recenter icon in the bottom left corner and the Reports button should appear.
