Share a location with Waze from Google Maps

You can share a location from Google Maps directly to Waze and start your navigation.

Note: This feature is currently not supported on Android Auto, Android Automotive (AAOS), and CarPlay.

  1. Find the location you want on Google Maps
  2. Tap the Google Maps share icon
  3. Tap The Waze app icon. The location will open in the Waze app.
    Note: You may need to swipe left, tap More, then scroll down to find this icon.
  4. Confirm that the location in Waze matches the one you want to drive to
  5. Tap the location
  6. Tap View routes
  7. Tap Go now to start your navigation, or tap Leave later to plan a drive

Change your destination mid-drive from Google Maps

  1. Find the location you want on Google Maps
  2. Tap the Google Maps share icon 
  3. Tap The Waze app icon. The location will open in the Waze app.
    Note: You may need to swipe left, tap More, then scroll down to find this icon.
  4. Confirm that the location in Waze matches the one you want to drive to
  5. Tap the location
  6. Tap Go
  7. Tap New drive
  8. Tap Go now to start your navigation, or tap Leave later to plan a drive

Add a stop to your current drive from Google Maps

  1. Find the location you want on Google Maps
  2. Tap the Google Maps share icon
  3. Tap The Waze app icon. The location will open in the Waze app.
    Note: You may need to swipe left, tap More, then scroll down to find this icon.
  4. Confirm that the location in Waze matches the one you want to drive to
  5. Tap the location
  6. Tap Go
  7. Tap Add a stop
