Let us know about blocked roads on your route to help improve routing in that area.
To report planned closures, send an email to waze-closures@google.com or reach out to the community through your local community forum.
Note: This feature is currently not supported on Android Auto, Android Automotive (AAOS), and CarPlay.
- Open Waze
- Tap
- Swipe up to open the full menu
- Tap Closure
- Tap Report to send your report
Your report will immediately affect your route, and Waze will avoid the road closure. The closure will appear on the map once more Wazers report the same closure and will be removed when Wazers start driving on the road again.
Got questions?
How do I make sure my report is added to the map?
How do I remove a wrong report?
Reports appear on the map for a certain amount of time and this time changes according to the number of Wazers who react to a report.
If you see a report that's no longer accurate, tap Not there. This will decrease the amount of time during which the report is displayed. What if I lose internet connection while reporting?
What is excessive reporting and how can I avoid it?
If your account has already been flagged for excessive reporting, you won't be able to report for a little while. If you're flagged more than once, the time you're not able to report will increase:
Blocked from reporting for | |
---|---|
First flag | 24 hours |
Second flag | 7 days |
Third flag | 30 days |

Why did Waze route me through a road that looks closed?
When a road is closed in one direction, the entire road may appear closed on the map. If Waze routes you through a road that looks closed on the map, it's most likely because the side of the road going in the other direction is closed.
