Turn on voice directions

Adjust the sound settings on your device to hear voice directions as you navigate.

 

In the Waze app

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Tap Settings
4. Tap Voice and sound
5. Make sure “Sounds” is turned on

On your phone

1. Open the Settings app
2. In the search bar, type “App permissions” and tap the result
3. Look for your microphone permissions and make sure they're turned on for Waze

Note: Steps may vary per device.

 

Android Auto

Turn on voice directions in Android Auto

 In the Waze app:

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Tap Sound
4. Make sure "Sound on" is turned on

On your phone:

Disconnect your phone from your in-car system and adjust your settings on your phone. They’ll apply when you use Waze in your car.

 

Android Automotive (AAOS)

Turn on voice directions in AAOS

1. Open Waze
2. Tap 
3. Tap Sound
4. Make sure "Sound on" is turned on

 

CarPlay

Turn on voice directions in CarPlay

Disconnect your phone from your in-car system and adjust your settings on your phone. They’ll apply when you use Waze in your car.
