Beginning to roll out freeways in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area
How to get a freeway trip
Freeway access is currently limited, so not all riders will get access to freeway trips at the start. We're gradually rolling out access to more riders.
If you don’t have freeway access, you can join an interest list from the app. Once you join the list, we’ll let you know when you have access.
Not all routes use freeways
Even if you have freeway access, not every route will use the freeway. You can preview your route and estimated dropoff time in the app before hailing.

Why did my car detour off the freeway?
Your car may make a detour for a number of reasons:
- You may be routed off portions of the freeway for reasons known ahead of time (e.g., heavy traffic)
- While a trip is in progress, you may be routed off the freeway if conditions require adjustments
If I have freeway access, will my rides always go on the freeway?
Since routes vary by ride, we recommend previewing your route before each ride. This applies to rides that go longer distances too.
