At a glance
Adding stops has a number of benefits:
- Change plans on the go
- Continue your trip after picking up or dropping off a friend
- Plan all your stops — when stopped we’ll save your itinerary for 30 minutes
But, please keep in mind that adding stops with Waymo doesn't:
- Save the same car for you
- Allow you to leave items (or passengers) unattended in the vehicle
- Keep the car waiting for you
Creating a trip with multiple stops
Creating a trip with more than one stop is easy and allows you to go to multiple destinations while out and about, like doing some shopping, grabbing a curbside meal, dropping off a friend at home, or grabbing a coffee on the way to work.
You can
- Make up to 4 stops
- Use a trip with stops for round trips
Waymo will save your itinerary until you end the trip, or for a max of 30 minutes
You can't
- Have the car pick up someone else before you get in
- Go through a drive-thru
During a stop
You can
- Pick up or drop off someone and continue to the next stop
- Stay in the car while dropping off or picking up someone
- Wait times aren't guaranteed and vary by service area
- Don’t leave children alone in the car
- Get out and stay at your destination for a while
You can't
- Leave your belongings or an additional passenger in the car
- The car will drive away and may serve other passengers
- Forget to press the big blue button in the app to get the car to come back to you
- The button is how the car knows you’re ready to resume your trip
Pickup
- Depending on traffic and road conditions (or if you adjust the pickup spot), the car will pick you up at the same place you were dropped off
- If adjustments for pickup spots are available, there will be a little box on the map next to your pickup spot that says “Adjust.” Tap it and choose from other nearby options.
Pricing

Waymo One charges a small fee for each additional stop

Even if your final destination doesn’t change, adding or deleting stops (or re-arranging the order of stops) may alter the distance and duration and therefore the price of the trip
- Program or promo specific rules may apply
- Discounts may be used when adding stops, as long as the discount is valid and applies to any leg of the trip

- After 30 minutes, your itinerary will no longer be saved, and you will have to pay the base fare for your next trip
