Email received: "You added a new card to your Google Account"

I just received the following email from a legit google domain.

I did not add any cards. Why have I received this? No additional cards are in my account.

We received the following back from Google:

"We are aware of an email notification that was sent by mistake about your card being added to your Google Account. Be assured there was no unauthorized access to your account. We apologize for the inconvenience."

same! i freaked out and went in and deleted all my cards. but i think it's a glitch in Google's system because i did not detect that anyone signed in as me on any devices. i changed my google password out of caution and an hour later got the same email about a card being added. so i think it is a glitch. hopefully google acknowledges this

I received one tonight too, and when I checked my account there was indeed another card there that expired a couple of months ago. I can't find any evidence that anyone else accessed my account but I removed the unrecognized card and reset my pword.

I got one of these emails as well, didn't click the link but went straight to my Google Wallet and checked, no new cards added it definitely seems like a glitch. Hopefully we will get an official response from Google soon.

Got the same emails at 01.00 through the night. UK.

Can’t see any new cards. But there are some I don’t recognise but probably old cards that were replaced. Is this a security issue?

Exactly same things happened to me this morning, I've woken to about 7 emails. Hopefully just a minor glitch. My wallet seems ok though.

I got 7 of these between 3 am and 6 am tonight. No card was actually added, and I was sleeping when it happened.

Me too. The problem I have with this is that I don't use Google Wallet and never have so why are they adding one of my actual credit cards to my account? Maybe it was stored in Chrome?

This is a massive breach of privacy.
