Pixel 7 - cannot add to wallet via screenshot

According to all the help text, Pixel models should be able to add a ticket to the wallet via a screenshot.  When I apply the steps as described (open the item containing QR code, center in screen, take screenshot), I only have options to "Share" (and the Wallet app is not listed in the sharable items), or "Edit" (and nothing in the Edit scheme allows saving to Wallet.

Have verified all apps (and phone) are up to date as of 2023-05-17.

EDIT:
Instructions from this URL, I have bolded the portion where I do not have the given option:
https://support.google.com/wallet/answer/12059256?hl=en&sjid=4442327134653103673-NA
  1. Open the email, app, or website that has your boarding pass.
  2. Find your boarding pass. If it’s in an email, you may need to open the .pdf.
    • On your screen, center the QR code or barcode.
  3. For a few seconds, press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time. Learn how to take a screenshot.
  4. On the “Screenshot saved” notification, tap Add to Google Wallet.
    • A browser window opens to pay.google.com.

I only get the share and edit icons.

The problem is not on your end. I have Pixel 6 Pro and can not add a pdf screenshot to the Wallet app either.

Hello Mike,

Welcome to the Google Wallet community.

Many tickets do not allow a screenshot to be taken.  Just ran into this the other day on my Pixel 7.   Try this, open Google Wallet and then loyalty cards.  Use the search function and type in the ticket vendor.  I if it shows up on the list, it should be compatible with Google Wallet.  You could also contact the vendor and see if their tickets can be uploaded to Google Wallet.  Not all tickets are.

Can you share this info you can find in device settings:
  • Android Version:
  • Android Security Patch Level:
  • Google Wallet Version:
  • Google Play Services [not Play Store] Version:
Sorry for the delay in responding, could you take a minute and see whether the issue persists? We can bump it up if necessary.
