Link a Google Play Developer account to Google Wallet Merchant Center

Using your Google Play Developer Console, you can create and link to a new Google Wallet Merchant Center account or link to an existing account.

You can only link a Google Wallet Merchant Center account once using your Google Play Developer Console account. Once the accounts are linked, they can’t be removed, changed or updated.

If you need to remove or update a linked account, you’ll need to sign up for a new Developer account, pay the $25 USD registration fee, and transfer any existing apps to your new account.

Here’s how to link your Google Play Developer Console to a Google Wallet Merchant Center account:

Note: The steps for linking an existing Google Wallet Merchant Center account to a Developer account are the same as setting up a new account.

  1. Sign in to your Google Play Developer Console.
  2. Click Reports Reports.
  3. On the left menu, click Financial reports.
  4. Select Set up a merchant account now.
    • Make sure you have your business information available to complete the next step.
  5. Type your business information on Google Wallet Merchant Center.

After you’ve set up your Google Wallet Merchant Center account, you'll need to make sure your apps are sold using the proper tax for your location.

If you aren’t located in any of the supported locations for merchants and don’t own the required bank account for receiving payments, Google may not be able to pay for the sales in that account by any other means.
