Wallet app set up

The Google Wallet app is available to US users in the Google Play store and the Apple app store, and runs on mobile devices on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or higher, and iOS 6 or higher. For more details, consult our list of eligible devices.

If you're using Wallet for the first time, open the app and sign in with your Google Account. Then:

  1. Enter your 5-digit US zip code.
Select whether you'd like to receive updates, and tap Next.

  2. Review the terms of service.
If you agree to these terms, tap Accept and continue at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Set Wallet PIN.
Enter a new four-digit PIN. You will use this PIN to verify access to the Wallet app, and to make debit transactions and cash withdrawals using the Google Wallet Card.

  4. Re-enter PIN.
    Re-enter your four-digit Wallet PIN.

  • If you use a PIN to lock your phone screen, you should use a different PIN for Google Wallet. It cannot be consecutive numbers or all the same number.
  • Make your PIN something you'll remember, your Wallet will be locked if you enter it incorrectly too many times and you'll have to reset it.
  • If you choose to set a PIN timeout, please keep in mind that a network connection will be necessary to unlock the Wallet app.
