Wallet app set up

The Google Wallet app is available to US users in the Google Play store and the Apple App Store, and works on mobile devices running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or higher, and iOS 6 or higher. Check out our list of eligible devices for more details.

If you're using Wallet for the first time:

  1. Open the Wallet app.
Sign in with your Google Account.

  2. Enter your 5-digit US zip code.
    Touch the checkmark

  3. Choose your email preference.
    Select the option you want.

  4. Review the terms of service.
If you agree to these terms, touch Agree and continue at the bottom of the screen.

  5. Create a Wallet PIN.
Enter a new four-digit PIN. You will use this PIN to verify access to the Wallet app, and to make debit transactions and cash withdrawals using the Google Wallet Card.

  6. Confirm PIN.
    Re-enter your four-digit Wallet PIN.

Wallet PIN tips

  • If you use a PIN to lock your phone screen, you should use a different PIN for Google Wallet. It cannot be consecutive numbers or all the same number.
  • Make your PIN something you'll remember, your Wallet will be locked if you enter it incorrectly too many times and you'll have to reset it.
  • If you choose to set a PIN timeout, keep in mind that a network connection will be necessary to unlock the Wallet app.
