Additional information
Octopus card disappears when I delete Octopus app or clear its memoryTo transfer your Octopus card to a new device:
- On your old device, back up the card.
- On your new device, restore the card with the same account in the Octopus app.
You can then save the card to Google Wallet for better lost device protection.
If you switch Google Wallet accounts, you'll lose the Octopus card in your Google Wallet. However, you can still tap and find it in the Octopus app.
To find or manage your Octopus card in Google Wallet, you need to switch back to the original Google Account associated with the card.
After a factory reset, you won’t be able to find or use the Octopus card, even after you log in to Google Wallet. You can add a new card, but you’ll lose the remaining balance from the previous card.
In these situations, we recommend you to:
- Use any remaining balance on your card or request a refund from Octopus.
- Back up the Octopus card from your Google Wallet before you factory reset your phone.
