In Japan, you can add e-Money and debit or credit cards as payment methods in your Google Wallet.
Contactless payments
When you add a contactless payment method to Google Wallet, you can make purchases with your Android device in stores that support contactless payments.
- e-Money: Suica, Edy, Waon, nanaco, and PASMO
- Most credit cards issued in Japan can be used to add money.
- Prepaid, debit, or credit card: QUICPay, iD, VISA Touch, and Mastercard Tap & Go

Make sure to use the same account on Google Wallet for third-party payment apps like iD, QUICPay, Mobile Suica, and Mobile PASMO.
Your device must run Android 9 or higher to use payment cards. To use e-Money, QUICPay, and iD cards, you’ll need an Android device that supports Osaifu-Keitai.

Online purchases
- Purchase in Google products like Google Play, YouTube, or Google Store.
- Purchase in apps or websites that support Google Wallet. Find supported online merchants.
Add a card
Add an e-Money cardImportant:
- To add an e-Money card, your device must be Osaifu-Keitai compatible.
- Your device can only hold one e-Money card per type at a time.
You can create an e-Money card from Google Wallet. To add PASMO, go to Add PASMO to Google Wallet.
- On your device, open the Google Wallet app

- At the bottom, tap Add to Wallet
.
- Tap e-Money.
- Select the e-Money card that you want to add.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- On your device, open the Google Wallet app

- At the bottom, tap Add to Wallet
.
- Tap Payment card.
- Enter your card info.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Charge an e-Money card
You can add money to an e-Money card from Google Wallet or in-stores with cash.
From Google WalletImportant: For nanaco, you must add money in-store.
- On your device, open the Google Wallet app
.
- Tap the e-Money card that you want to charge
Add money.
- Add or choose the payment method. Learn which payment methods are supported.
- Input the amount of money you want to top up.
- Tap Add money.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Important: To add money to an e-Money card in-store, you must use cash.
- Go to a store that supports e-Money top up.
- Ask the cashier to charge your e-Money card.
- Be sure to mention the type of e-Money card that you want to add money to.
- Pay in cash.
- Tap your phone on the card reader.
- After you top-up, you may find a full screen checkmark.
- Check your Google Wallet balance for the updated funds.
- If the balance doesn't update automatically, in the card details screen, tap the update spinner.
Delete a card
When you delete a debit or credit card from Google Wallet, it’s removed from your device. You won't be able to access it from Google Wallet or other applications.
e-Money cards with a balance can be removed from Google Wallet but will remain on your phone.
Important:
- To completely delete your e-Money card or manage your balance, go to the e-Money service provider app or website.
- To transfer your e-Money card to a new device, follow the instructions in Transfer cards from an old device to a new one.
- On your device, open the Google Wallet app

- Tap the card that you want to delete.
- At the top right, tap More
Delete card.
Transfer cards between devices
You can transfer Suica or PASMO between devices. For other e-Money, find instructions to transfer your card:
- Suica
- Edy
- nanaco
- WAON
- PASMO
- QUICPay or iD transfers: Remove the card from the old device and add it to the new one.
If you have issues, contact your e-Money service provider for help.
Review transactions
Important: If many transactions happen in a short time, Google Wallet may not show all your transaction details.
Find all transactions, such as purchases, credit and in-store charges, and gifts, in your card’s transaction history in Google Wallet.
- On your device, open the Google Wallet app
.
- Tap the card that you want to review.
Protect a lost device
If your device is lost or stolen:
- Find, lock, or erase your device remotely with Find My Device.
- The device must be online.
- For e-Money cards, contact your service provider to stop the e-Money mobile service on your phone.
- This deletes credit, debit, or prepaid cards that you added for QUICPay or iD.
- Contact your carrier's Remote Lock service.
