Can't make a call from my computer

I am trying to make calls from my computer using google voice.  Nothing works.  I enter a number, the call button turns blue, I click the call button, and the number disappears, the call button goes back to grey and no one is called

Hi Tamara Galeano-Capone et al.

This should be resolved now.   If you still cannot place a call, refresh the Google Voice web page or start your browser. Some users may have to clear cache.

Thanks

I am brand new to GV (just set up my account today) and getting the exact same thing.
Am using chrome browser.. I've set my configurations to what I think are right based on other posts about this challenge, but still no luck :(.

I also just found, like Ashley Morgan 7926, that changing the pop-up settings appears to fix it.  It's a really weird bug that still needs fixing though.

@baldybeardedguy Thanks for the replies - I got here from another post for the same issue (that was marked as duplicate and brought me here).  Nice to see that someone is aware and looking at the problem.

Thank you!!! That fixed my issue. I'm not sure how the site settings got like that, but thank you!!!

Found my fix!

Was having the same thing happening to me as of about 2 hours ago.

Ended up being the Ublock Origin chrome extension I use for blocking pop-ups. I disabled that on the voice.google.com page, refreshed, and now I am able to make calls again.

Check any block up popper you have as I had never had that issue until today.

Wow, thank you @Ashley Morgan! The very same thing just worked for me!

Ashley Morgan is correct.  When I did what she said, it worked.  She said: My default Chrome browser permissions settings for voice.google.com was to Block pop-ups and redirects. Allowing these permissions and refreshing my browser solved the problem. I can now make and receive calls on the computer.

I finally resolved it. I went to my cell phone to see if I was able to make a call using the app. When I tried to make the call from the app, it prompted me to add my phone number again  For some reason it needed me to connect my mobile number again. Once I did that using my cell phone, I restarted the website and it worked fine. Weird 🤷🏻‍♀️

The web service seems to be working again.

Original Post was marked as a duplicate for this.

I cannot make or receive calls using the browser-based UI for Google Voice. I have tried multiple browsers, restarting my PC several times, and logging into and out of my account. The functionality works find on my Android device(s), so I know it has to be something with the site. I have even tried using different PCs to see if it was just a hardware issue.

How do I get this resolved?

I looked at the permissions for voice.google.com and it said "Allowed (Default)". I changed it to "Allowed" and refreshed and it went through fine, strange...
