I deactivated my Google Voicemail and then deleted my Google Voice Number. When calls are made to my number and they are not answered, the caller gets a message the call can not be completed as dialed.

Hi Dave:  thanks for posting.

To be clear, do you mean that, when someone calls your AT&T Wireless number, and that number isn't answered or is busy, their call is sent to an error recording?

If that's what you meant, then it is because you had previously programmed your AT&TWS number, on AT&T's network, to conditionally forward busy or unanswered calls back to your Google Voice number and its voicemail.  So, your callers are now being sent to a disconnected number, which is exactly what that error message is saying.

Now, you need to disable the previously-enabled conditional call forwarding for your AT&T number.

To disable conditional call forwarding, first, open your mobile phone's telephone keypad, and touch ##004# and touch Send or Call, and wait for confirmation.  If you receive an error message, then enter all three of the commands below, one at a time.
  • Disable Call Forward if Unanswered: ##61#
  • Disable Call Forward if Unreachable: ##62#
  • Disable Call Forward if Busy: ##67#
