I received the following error. MDN not found/does not belong to SP. Vendor Error Remarks: Account:6A. I called the previous provider and they said the port was approved and successful on 4/16 and they don’t have the number anymore. Does that mean that my number is lost.
PS. I ported my number from a landline to a mobile career for one day, then started the porting process to Google Voice.

Hi 436 8923, welcome to the Google Voice community forum!

I called the previous provider and they said the port was approved and successful on 4/16 and they don’t have the number anymore.
Which previous provider did you call?  Was it your landline provider? After you are complete the port to your mobile carrier, you should wait at least one week before attempting to port your number to Google Voice.  You need to make sure you are able to make AND receive phone calls, and also send AND receive text messages on the phone you have hooked up with your mobile provider on your ported number. Hope this information is helpful.

I wasn’t aware of the waiting requirement and ported the number to GV as soon as I got confirmation the number was ported from the landline to the mobile career. I was able to make phone calls on the mobile device. I didn’t try texting. Is there anything I can do now?

Hi 436 8923, thank you for posting back.

Is there anything I can do now?

Yes, you can wait a full week, and attempt the port again.

Outgoing calls always work first.  It may take some time for the telecom industry to see that incoming calls are now supposed to be routed to a new carrier.  It takes even longer for inbound text messaging to work.  The process takes longer when poring involves a landline number.

If you still are having trouble after waiting a full week, please let me know.

It seems to me that the number got lost in the sea between the mobile carrier and GV. I just called the mobile carrier and they said that the number was ported out on 4/16 and they have nothing to do with number, so how do I enter info on GV port screen? There is no account number etc. to put in, because the former provider no longer has the number.

Please put your number into the following website, and let me know the results.

Then put your number into this website, and verify whether or not it says the number is not a Google Voice number.

If it gives you a hint of the email account associated with it, please check your account to verify you've received the email.

First, I really appreciate your help.
I entered the number in the first link and it says that Sprint Spectrum, L.P. is the provider.
I entered the number in the second link and it did match my email address and I did get an email, BUT the when I go setting under legacy GV, I see the old number, and the old number is the number that's actually working. The number that I ported is not working. When I call that number, I get a message "The person you have called is unavailable, please try again later".

Right, that's why I deleted my post.  I re-read your comment again.

It appears that NPAC still believes your phone number is owned by Sprint.  Is that the carrier you ported the number to from the landline carrier?

If so, contact Sprint's porting department, and check the status of your port.  Tell them that the number is still listed as being registered to them.  Find out if the port from the landline ever fully completed.  Tell them that you're now attempting to port the number to a landline, and give them the exact error message you are receiving in red text.

Here is the info we have for Sprint:

Sprint
Account Number: 9 Digits all numbers
PIN: 4-6 Numbers
English: 877-503-3269
Spanish: 877-888-5344

The carrier was Tello, it's a part of Sprint's company. They say they have no additional info other than the fact that the number was successfully ported out.

Did you speak with their porting department?  Basic CS reps at MVNO's are not usually well-equipped to handle porting issues.

For now ,the only thing I can say is to be patient and wait a few days.
