Hello Luann Yarbrough, thanks for your question and welcome to the forum. Google Voice does not offer support directly to Google Voice users so you will have to check the status of your Google Voice service yourself.

If you haven't used your Google Voice account to place an outgoing Google Voice call for one year or more, it is very possible that Google reclaimed your number due to "inactivity".

Ask someone to dial your Google number from their personal telephone, then see what happens.

The expected behaviour is that your personal telephone will ring and you can answer it.

If you don't answer the incoming call, it should go to Google Voice voicemail.

If the above does not occur, or something unexpected or unusual occurs, please come back to this thread and report what happens in detail so we can help you.

I had the same issue. I called my own number, and after the google assistant said she would try to find me, there was just silence.... i hung up after about 30 seconds.  Then I logged into my voice.google.com account, and now it is working again. I didn't make any changes, other than listening to some of my vmails.  maybe you just need to go into to the account for it to stay active?

Callers started getting 'unable to complete calls' message when calling into my GV.

I saw no apparent errors or other messages in my GV account.  There was no record of the inbound calls being rejected.  There was no record of the account being deactivated or otherwise turned off.

I called several times, getting the 'unable to complete' message each time.

I went into my GV settings, changed one setting which toggled OFF the ring to web option.

Calls worked correctly after this.  Calls went through to the forwarding number.

Hey All,

I don't know if this helps or not, but I have an Android VZW mobile phone, and the "Carrier Services" app updated recently. When it did, I lost my connection to Google Voice. To re-enable,

(1) Using my computer, I first went to the GV webpage, signed in, and clicked on the gear on the upper right part of that page. This gets  you to the GV Settings page. Under the Account tab, I clicked on the 'x' to delete my mobile phone, which was labeled "Android Phone".

(2) Then I went to my mobile phone and started the Google Voice app. As soon as I did that, the app responded by asking if I wanted to connect the app/mobile phone combo to my Google account. I responded yes, and saw from my computer connected to the GV Settings that the phone was again linked to my GV account. I was also asked if I wanted to use GV to make calls with some options. I selected yes.

(3) The final step is to forward your calls to your GV phone number. On VZW you do this by dialing *71##########, where the #'s are your 10-digit GV number. Depending on your answer to the last option in step (2) above, you may be prompted on how to make the call; you want to select "Use carrier".
