How can I tell if someone has set up a google voice number with my cell phone number?

I may have been scammed by a buyer on facebook. Via facebook messenger they asked for my mobile cell number. When I provided it, I received a google voice verification code on my cellphone text. I had no idea what Google voice was. They asked via facebook messenger what the code was. I provided the code. However, I then received another text with a new google voice verification code. This time I saw the warning not to provide the code, so I did not share the 2nd code via facebook messenger.  Has my cell phone number or google voice been compromised? I do not have a google voice account and I don’t have the google voice app on my cell phone. I have a google pixel 4a5G phone. How can I tell if my cell number is being used by a scammer for google voice? What security issues do I face?
