When making GV calls from my landline, the interface doesn't respond consistently to touchtones.  It may recognize them immediately, or only after the presenting a list of options, or not at all and the call dies.

Tell me how this is a "solution" works when you are 90+ years old and don't have a computer or a smartphone, just a "flip phone" or landline phone.  This "problem" you've been "working on" has been going on for almost 2 years (on my son's GV number) and 6 months on mine! (my neighbor is posting this for me since I don't have or use computers)

No, this has not been going on for almost 2 years.  This is a new bug that surfaced recently.  Google is working on it.  There is no ETA.
The very simple behavioral change that John described works.  Just wait for Kiki to stop talking before entering touch tone commands.

That does NOT WORK, we have tried it numerous times. And my son's GV number has been inoperable since the beginning of 2018. I should have said going on a 2nd year of not working.

I just switched to T-Mobile and the touch tones do not work when trying to hear messages but it works when I receive calls.  This there a fix?
