Google Voice microphone not working

I keep getting a "microphone is turned off" message whenever I try to record a voicemail greeting or even make a call using my browser (google chrome, software up to date). I have my microphone turned on in site settings and have google voice as "allow." Is there a way to fix this?

Hi careoh224

Check your Mac permissions.
System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone. Then select Chrome.
Repeat for camera.

Hi careoh224
Thanks for posting in the user moderated Google Voice Community Forum

Do you have more than on microphone connected?
Check your system settings to determine if you are using the correct microphone.

Make sure Chrome extensions are not messing with your microphone by disabling all extensions:
From Chrome, close all tabs and then open the extensions: chrome://extensions/
Disable all extensions.
Restart Chrome.

My Voice isn't accessing the Mic, ringing, or the speakers - All blank, and nothing dropping-down when I click the arrow, on the right.
I suspect there is something like baldybeardedguy's above configuration  on my Windows PC (Win10Pro, Ver.: 1903; Build: 18362.418; Installed On: 9/15/19). I have 2 PC's side-by side. On the working PC, In the microphone Setting panel I see Google Chrome and TeamViewer under the "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone" (which is enabled). On the non-working PC, I ONLY see TeamViewer. Now to figure out how to get Chrome to show up. Or perhaps it's something else, that's not populating the selections with what my PC has available.
