Enable Hangouts in Gmail
- Click your profile photo at the top of your Chat list.
- Click Try the new Hangouts.
- Gmail will refresh, and you’ll be able to start using Hangouts.
Turn off Hangouts and start using the old chat
- In Hangouts in Gmail, click on your name.
- Select Revert to old Chat.
- Gmail will refresh and you can start using Google Chat.

I hope you all had a chance to see Nikhyl Singhal's post on G+ re: Google Voice and Hangouts future:
"Thanks for all of your feedback on last week's Hangouts launch. I wanted to quickly talk about 1) making/receiving phone calls in Gmail, and 2) Google Voice support more generally.
1) Today's version of Hangouts doesn't yet support outbound calls on the web and in the Chrome extension, but we do support inbound calls to your Google Voice number. We're working hard on supporting both, and outbound/inbound calls will soon be available. In the meantime, you can continue using Google Talk in Gmail.
2) Hangouts is designed to be the future of Google Voice, and making/receiving phone calls is just the beginning. Future versions of Hangouts will integrate Google Voice more seamlessly."

S BansalGoogle voice phone gadget in gmail on windows laptop, broken by new hangouts gadget: Bought all this google voice credit to be able to make phone calls from gmail from laptop using the gmail chat gadget that had the “call phone” button, but now gmail phone call gadget is gone, replaced by hangouts and there is no “call phone” button. How do I make phone calls now from laptop ?

Justin MichaelIs there a way to keep Google talk as a legacy system while this monstrosity of Google hangout comes about? Google Voice is a great service and should remain as a standalone service with integrated outbound calling. Right now without Google talk, or even with a beta version, the ability to make outbound calls has been removed WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING.
I know many small business owners, including myself, that depended on this service for both inbound and outbound calls and international calls. I've invested money into purchasing various google voice numbers for this purpose, now they are all completely useless...
Is there any solution to solve this problem?
