Use a desk phone with Voice

If your organisation gives you a desk phone, you can use it to make and receive calls with Google Voice.

Tip: Your desk phone is listed with your other Google Voice devices under Settings  Devices and numbers.

Transfer a call from a desk phone

When you answer a call from a desk phone, you can transfer the call to another Google Voice number in your organisation.

1. Answer the call.
2. When ready, press Transfer.
   1. Voice puts the call on hold.
3. Dial the number of the person you want to transfer the call to.
4. Choose an option:
   1. To transfer the call immediately, press Transfer now.
      1. Voice connects the two people.
   2. Wait until the person answers, then press Transfer now.
      1. Voice connects the two people.
5. Hang up.

Use call waiting on a desk phone

If you get an incoming call when you're on a call, you hear a tone on your handset and the calling number appears on your phone screen. You can answer the incoming call and automatically place the first call on hold.

• To answer the incoming call, press Answer.
• To ignore the call, press Reject.

To switch between two active calls, use the arrow buttons.

To return to a call after ending the other call, press Resume.

Make a second call from a desk phone

When you're on a call, you can put the call on hold and make a second call.

1. Press New call.
   Voice puts the first call on hold.

2. Dial the number of the second call.

Or:

1. Press Hold.
   Voice puts the first call on hold.
2. Press New call.
3. Dial the number of the second call.

To switch between two active calls, use the arrow buttons.

To return to a call after ending the other call, press Resume.

Set up speed dial on a desk phone

You can customise speed dials on a desk phone for one-click dialling of frequently used numbers.

Note: In the future, Google Voice might assign new functions to buttons that you use for speed dials. If so, you'll need to set up the speed dials again.

1. On the side of the screen, press one of the unassigned speed dial buttons.
   Location of speed dial buttons depends on the phone model.
2. In the Name field, press Edit. Enter a name for the speed dial, and then press Save.
   Use the arrow buttons to navigate.
3. In the Destination number field, press Edit. Enter the phone number, and then press Save.
4. For the Voice service field, leave blank and it will be set automatically.
5. Press Home.
   The speed dial is set.

Edit a speed dial

1. Press and hold the button next to the speed dial that you want to change.
2. Navigate to the field that you want to edit.
3. Press Edit and enter the information.
4. Press Home.
   The speed dial is set.

Delete a speed dial

1. Press and hold the button next to the speed dial that you want to delete.
2. In the Name field, press Default to clear.
3. In the Destination number field, press Default to clear.
4. Press Home
   The speed dial is set.

Change the ringtone on your desk phone

You can change the ringtone that your desk phone plays when receiving incoming calls.

1. Next to your name and number on the phone, press and hold the button until a new menu opens.
2. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to Ringtone, and then press Enter to open the list of available tones.
3. Use the arrow buttons to navigate, and then press Play to preview a tone.
4. Highlight the tone that you want, and then press Select.
5. Press Home.
