Check Google voicemail
Listen to your voicemail, or read a transcript of the message.
Check from a computer
- On your computer, open Google Voice.
- Open the tab for Voicemail
. Voicemails you haven't read yet are in bold.
- Select a voicemail.
- Read the transcript. To listen to the voicemail, click Play
.
If you can't find a voicemail, check if it got marked as spam. At the top left, open Menu
Spam.
Check from a phone
You can check your voicemail from any phone.
- On a phone, call your Google Voice number.
- During the greeting, tap Star (*).
- Enter your PIN, and tap Pound (#).
Change PIN settings
Use a computer to change your PIN settings.
Create or change your PIN
- On your computer, open Google Voice.
- At the top left, open Menu

- At the top right, click Settings
Settings.
- Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
- Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
- At the bottom, click Save changes.
Require a PIN to check voicemail
- On your computer, open Google Voice.
- At the top left, open Menu
Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
- At the top right, click Settings
Settings.
- Click the "Phones" tab.
- Under your phone number, click Edit.
- Click Show advanced settings.
- Next to "Voicemail Access," select Yes.
- Select PIN required.
- At the bottom, click Save.
