Check Voicemail left on your Carrier's Voicemail system

Depending on your phone carrier you may not be able to check old voicemails left through your carrier’s voicemail system while Google voicemail is enabled.

You can temporarily disable Google voicemail by signing into your Google Voice account. To do so:

  1. Go to your Google Voice Settings.
  2. Click Deactivate Google voicemail on this phone next to the number of the phone associated with the voicemail you wish to check.
  3. Follow the prompt to deactivate Google voicemail.

Google voicemail is now turned off allowing you to check the voicemail left through your phone carrier's system the same way you did before you had Google Voice.

Once you’ve finished checking your voicemail, you can enable Google voicemail again by returning to your settings page and clicking ‘Activate Google voicemail on this phone’ next to your forwarding phone.
