Switch phones during an incoming call

This feature is only available for calls that you received on your Google Voice number. It won't work for calls that you placed.

To switch phones in the middle of an incoming call you must first enable the call switch feature. To enable it, simply:

  1. Click the gear icon and select Settings.
  2. Click the Calls tab.
  3. Select the checkbox next to Call Options.

Once you've enabled it you can use it by pressing * while you're talking, and your other phones will ring.

For example, if you're talking on your home phone and you're about to head out, simply press and you can pick up the call from your mobile phone. There are no passcodes or PINs to enter and, best of all, your caller won't even hear the switch.

The call switch feature only works with phones that you've added to Google Voice on your Settings page. To add a new number, sign in to Google Voice, click the gear icon at the top right of the page, and click Settings.
