Vault and client side S/MIME signatures in Gmail (FIXED)

Previously, Vault did not include the S/MIME signature in its email message search preview or in the Vault export, if the message met all of the criteria below:

  • It was sent using a third-party email client.
  • It was sent using SMTP-MSA.
  • It was signed with opaque S/MIME signatures external to Gmail (i.e. non-hosted).
  • It was not encrypted using S/MIME.

As of November 1, 2017, Vault includes S/MIME signatures for email messages that fit the profile above in email message search previews and in exports.

If you're a Vault admin and wish to have those signatures included in search previews and/or exports, you can re-run your searches and/or exports.
