Download an export from Vault

When an export is ready in Google Vault, you can download it for processing and analysis. The user who downloads the export doesn't have to be the same user who started the export.

The export links expire 15 days after the export begins. You can download the export as many times as you need until the links expire.

Requirements for an export

You can download an export using the Vault API or the Vault console.

Use the Vault API

If you download an export using the Vault API, make sure that:

  1. The matter is shared with you or owned by you.

For details, go to Share matters with other Vault users.

  2. You have the Manage Exports privilege or are the creator of the export.

Use the Vault console

These permissions apply only if you're using the Vault console to download an export. They do not apply if you download an export using the Vault API.

Permission to download the export
