Exporting Data

Overview

Urchin 4's Export Data function makes it easy to extract data from any Urchin report. This is useful for bringing report data into a spreadsheet, database, etc. for further analysis.

How to Use Export Data

To export data from any report, click the Export Data button at the bottom of the screen.

You will then be presented with a dialog box which allows you to specify the format of the data (see below).

After choosing the format of the data, click Export Data. If you have selected Comma Separated Value Format (CSV) and you have Microsoft Excel installed on your computer, Excel should automatically load and present the data you have exported.

Recommendations

  • To export data to Microsoft Excel, use CSV format
  • To export data to a database, tab-separated is usually the preferred format
