How do I install Urchin startup scripts on RedHat?
There is an Urchin startup script that is created upon installation. It is named "urchin_daemons" and is located in the Urchin util directory. "/path/to/urchin/util/"
Copy this script into the /etc/rc.d/init.d/ directory.
- cd /path/to/urchin/util
- cp urchin_daemons /etc/rc.d/init.d/
- chmod +x /etc/rc.d/init.d/urchin_daemons
- Look at the /etc/inittab file and determine the default run level (usually 3). [[See below]]
- Then change into the /etc/rc.d/rcX.d (where X is the run level).
- cd /etc/rc.d/rc3.d
- Create symbolic links that point to /etc/rc.d/init.d/urchin_daemons that are named S95urchin and K05urchin.
- ln -s ../init.d/urchin_daemons S95urchin
- ln -s ../init.d/urchin_daemons K05urchin
