The purchase protection opt-in

After completing a purchase at a Google Trusted Store, customers will be offered the opportunity to opt in for free purchase protection from Google. This purchase protection opt-in is triggered by the Google Trusted Stores order confirmation module that is placed on your store’s order confirmation page(s).

A customer can choose to protect their order by clicking Yes, activate this free benefit from the purchase protection opt-in or to dismiss the prompt by clicking No, thanks.

When your customer chooses purchase protection under the Google Trusted Stores program, Google will send an email confirmation to the customer which includes order details and its estimated ship date, your store’s customer service contact information, and a link to their Google Trusted Stores Customer account. These customers will also receive an invitation to take the Google Trusted Stores customer survey after their order is shipped.

If a customer chooses not to protect their order, the purchase protection opt-in will disappear and only anonymized order details are sent to Google.

During the qualification period when the Trusted Stores badge is not yet displayed on your store, your customers will not be able to opt in for purchase protection; instead, the order confirmation module will trigger the customer survey opt-in, which will invite them to take the Google Trusted Stores customer survey a few days after their order is shipped. Placement on your store’s site

The purchase protection opt-in appears at the end of each transaction in the center of your store’s order confirmation page. While the opt-in cannot be resized, you may request a special configuration in which the opt-in appears in the bottom right-hand corner of your confirmation page. The opt-in may vary slightly in size and location as we continue to experiment and find the configuration that drives optimal performance for all our partners and customers in the Google Trusted Stores program.
