Export, embed, and cite Trends data

You can add charts with Trends data to your website to share data on the topics you're interested in. You can also export Trends data to see a comprehensive list of search data.

Export a chart

If you want to analyze Trends data further, you can export charts as CSV files.

  1. Open Google Trends.
  2. Search for a term.
  3. In the top right of the chart, click More CSV.
  4. Open the file using a spreadsheet application like Google Sheets.

Share Trends data

Share a link to search results

  1. Open Google Trends.
  2. Search for a term.
  3. In the top right of the page, click Share.
  4. Choose a place to share your Trends link.

Share a chart

  1. Open Google Trends.
  2. Search for a term.
  3. In the top right of the page, click MoreShare.
  4. Choose a place to share your chart.

Embed a chart

  1. Open Google Trends.
  2. Search for a term.
  3. In the top right of the chart, click More Embed.
  4. Copy and paste the HTML code into the body of your webpage.
  5. Click Done.

Note: The embed feature isn't available for all charts.

How to use and cite Trends data

You can use any information from Google Trends, subject to the Google Terms of Service.

If you reuse Trends data, attribute the information to Google with a citation.

Example: To use a screenshot of Trends data, add "Data source: Google Trends (www.google.com/trends)."

Note: Google Trends is a different data source from AdWords and they shouldn't be cited together.
