The Trains & Buses Referrals report displays different views about referrals and their prices across geographic and transport specific dimensions.
Introduction
Through a new Google Search Engine Results Page (SERP) that displays information about Transport (Trains & Buses) itineraries when a user searches for trains or buses (eg. "trains from Zurich to Milan"), TAC is now able to report train and bus clicks performance or referrals for a specific itinerary shown in the session.
A referral is registered when a user selects the booking option for a specific itinerary. When registering a referral, it is also registering information about the routes and the prices associated with that specific itinerary.
Getting Started
The dashboard shows information about referral metrics and associated prices in different dimension views (Domestic or International Trip Type, Location of Departure, Location of Arrivals, Duration of the trip and Booking Advanced Days Window).
1. Date Selection
To view the referrals data, you may select different date windows. By default, the dashboard shows data from the last 7 days from the data source and does not allow you to select below 7 days.
View Period over Period comparisons by clicking the period over period slider to the right of the date picker:
2. Data Filters
To refine the data further, use the Data Filters Component. You can either filter by Geographic Dimensions or use the Basic Filter with integration IDs, Trip Type, Number of Segments for each itinerary, User Device and User Country dimensions:
3. Time Series Chart
The Time Series charts display the trends of referrals and accumulated price in USD shown in the itinerary.
Enabling period over period allows you to compare the differences in referrals and accumulated prices in USD trends between the periods of your choosing.
4. Table Report
The Table Report allows you to slice the Referrals and the Value (USD) across multiple dimensions and compare the metrics from a previous period.
The User Country dimension is selected by default. Click the Column Selector button in the top right corner of the table to select the dimensions you wish to view. Available dimensions include departure and arrival geographic information, trip type, number of segments, booking window and trip duration.
