Troubleshoot issues for Google Trips app

We’re saying goodbye to Google Trips August 5, 2019. Many of your favorite
features will live on in other Google products. Learn more

I don't see my trip

Trip reservations are automatically gathered from Gmail and organized into individual trips. If you have reservations-related emails in a different account, forward them to your Gmail account to automatically create a new trip. Make sure to refresh the app after you forward the emails.
While we add many types of reservations to a trip (flights, hotels, vacation rentals, restaurants, rental cars, event tickets, and trains), a trip is created whenever we find a transportation event (flight, train) an overnight stay (hotel, vacation rental), or both. We’re working hard to make our algorithms better, but sometimes we miss or misinterpret travel-related emails. If that happens, create a trip manually.

To manually add a trip:

  1. From the “Your trips” home screen, tap Where do you want to go? and enter the destination (or the first destination, for multi-destination itineraries) in the search box.
  2. Once you’ve entered a place, you’ll see the home screen for that destination.
  3. Tap Create trip to add the destination as a new trip, making sure to select the dates and any additional destinations.
  4. Tap Done to save to Your trips.

I want to manually add reservations

You can manually add reservations to your trip by using the + button (  ) on the bottom right of the “Reservations” screen.
Enter the necessary information. Google Trips will help by auto-completing addresses and telephone numbers of known locations as well as flight times of known flights.
Reservation types that can be manually added:
  • Flights
  • Hotels
  • General notes
  • Car rentals
  • Restaurants

Turn off adding trips from Gmail

If you’d prefer not to have trips automatically added from your Gmail, you can turn off this feature.
In the top left of the “Your trips” home screen, tap the menu  and then tap Settings .
Adjust the toggle after “Trips from Gmail.”

Information about my trip is missing or inaccurate

To edit a trip or add destinations:
  • Go to the trip’s home screen.
  • Tap the edit icon Edit in the top right.
  • You’ll have the option of renaming your trip, resetting the destination, changing the dates, or adding destinations.

I have trip details from other people

If friends or family members forward you emails about their trips, such as letting you know their flight or hotel details, this can lead to the creation of a trip in the Google Trips app. The trips added to Google Trips from your Gmail aren’t shared with anyone else, but if you forward trip-related emails to a Google Trips user, your trip might show up in their list of trips.
If you don’t know which emails triggered the creation of a trip, you can view the emails with reservation info directly in Google Trips:
  • Open the “Reservations” section for the trip.
  • Tap the link to the original email at the bottom of each reservation.
To delete a trip: Navigate to the “Your trips” homescreen. Click the three-dot menu 3 dot icon in the upper right corner of the specific trip you want to delete and select Delete from Google.

I want to share my trips with others

Unfortunately, you cannot yet share your trips using the Google Trips app.

Day plan errors

If you are unable to pin an attraction or set it as the starting point for a day plan, it’s likely due to a conflict with opening hours or total time. For example, starting a morning day plan with an attraction that doesn’t open until noon isn’t possible. Combining too many attractions with long visit durations also won’t work.

Information about an attraction or restaurant is inaccurate

If you notice incorrect information about an attraction or restaurant, please submit feedback. From the “Things to do” and “Food & drink” sections, tap Feedback in the menu at the top right.

Add a review to an attraction or restaurant

It currently isn’t possible to add a review within Google Trips, but you’re encouraged to review the attraction or restaurant in Google Maps.

Provide general feedback on Google Trips

Let us know what you think!
On the top of the “Your trips” screen, tap the menu  and then tap Feedback.
