November 2025. We introduced two new categories for content type: 'recent content' and 'official publication', and one new category for type of website: 'insufficient information'. The new categories will allow for a more granular request breakdown in our report.
December 2019. We discovered an error in our computation of the total number of URLs requested for delisting. As a result of our correction, the total number of URLs dropped by 65,063 and the total number of requests dropped by 4,056. This correction is also reflected in all relevant data exhibits across the report.
July 2017. As our internal processes evolved, Google was better able to more quickly identify spam requests that artificially inflated our volume by using automated systems to submit requests via webform or other means. We no longer count spam requests in the Transparency Report figures and we have deleted previous instances of forwarded requests.
