April 2022. For our report about Enterprise requests, we updated ‘How Google defines an Enterprise Cloud customer’ for Workspace customers starting in the January – June 2021 reporting period, reflecting the Workspace brand identity announced before that reporting period.
January 2021. For our report about global requests, we updated the number of requests for user information that we received in the January – June 2019 and the July – December 2019 reporting periods, as well as the percentage of requests that result in the disclosure of some information. We also updated the number of requests for user information that we can identify as having been issued through diplomatic procedures.
Separately, for our report about US national security requests, we also corrected the number of accounts implicated by non-content and content requests under FISA that we received in the July – December 2015 to January – June 2019 reporting periods.
May 2020. We added to our semi-annual transparency report the number of government requests that we received for Google Cloud Platform and G Suite Enterprise customer data.
We also updated the information presented for the January – June 2019 reporting period to include government requests for user information related to Nest. Prior to this change and prior to Nest joining Google Home, the Nest Transparency Report reported this information separately from Google’s Transparency Report on requests for user information.

October 2016. Pursuant to the USA Freedom Act, the FBI lifted a gag restriction on an NSL issued in the second half of 2015. To reflect this, we updated the range of NSLs received in that period – July to December 2015 – from 0–499 to 1–499.
December 2015. The passage of the USA Freedom Act enabled us to report Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) requests and National Security Letters (NSLs) in narrower ranges. We updated all historical data for previous reporting periods to reflect these new ranges.
August 2015. We corrected the number of user data requests that we received from Austria, Switzerland and Germany in the July–December 2014 reporting period.
December 2013. The information presented for the July–December 2013 reporting period specifies the precise numbers of requests that were made. Prior to this change, we excluded data about countries that made fewer than 30 requests in a reporting period.
June 2012. We corrected the compliance percentage for user data requests that we received from Hungary in the January – June 2011 reporting period.
December 2011. We corrected the number of user data requests that we received from France, Germany, Hungary, Singapore, Spain and the UK in the January–June 2011 reporting period.
