Hey Hans,

Although there are no monetary benefits in joining the Translate Community :), there are many other benefits like:

1) You can improve your local language well.
2) Be proud that, you have contributed to a larger part of your local language in Google Translate.
3) Get good responses from translate, if ever you try to convert from any language to your local language.
4) Be proud to have made a contribution to the largest and most sought after company in the world.
5) You can also join the translate forum and help other people like yourself. You can later be promoted to the position of a Top Contributor if your contributions are good, and can meet with and talk with a lot of other people like you from different parts of the world.Even, you can talk with Googlers too :)

Hoping to see you soon - Contributing!

Levels

Member levels indicate a user's level of participation in a forum. The greater the participation, the higher the level. Everyone starts at level 1 and can rise to level 10. These activities can increase your level in a forum:

  • Post an answer.
  • Having your answer selected as the best answer.
  • Having your post rated as helpful.
  • Vote up a post.
  • Correctly mark a topic or post as abuse.

Having a post marked and removed as abuse will slow a user's advance in levels.
