Save translations in a Phrasebook

You can keep translations that you've used in the past in a Phrasebook. You can see the translations in your Phrasebook even if you aren't connected to the Internet.

Add a word or phrase

Option 1: Use the app

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Translate app Translate app.
  2. In your translation history, next to a translation, tap Add to phrasebook Add to phrasebook.

Option 2: Use a mobile browser

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, go to Google Translate.
  2. Translate a word or phrase.
  3. At the right, tap Star Star.

Note: Your mobile browser phrasebook isn't shared with the app.

See or delete saved translations

Option 1: Use the app

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Translate app Translate app.
  2. At the top-left, tap Menu Menu and then Phrasebook.
    • You’ll see your phrasebook.
    • To remove a word or phrase, touch and hold the text and then tap Delete Bin.

Option 2: Use a mobile browser

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, go to Google Translate.
  2. Below the translation panels, tap Star Star.
    • You'll see your saved translations.
    • To remove a word or phrase, touch and hold the text and then tap Delete Bin.
