Download languages to use offline

You can download languages onto your device. This lets you translate them without an internet connection.

After you’ve downloaded a language, you could be able to translate it by looking at it through your device's camera lens. See languages that work with instant camera translations.

Choose & download languages

  1. Make sure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the Translate app Translate app.
  3. On either side of the screen, at the top, tap the language.
  4. Next to the language you want to download, tap Download Download. If it’s not there, the language can’t be downloaded.
  5. If asked to download the language file, tap Download.

Next to each language saved on your device, you’ll see Downloaded Downloaded.
