Troubleshoot issues with Toolbar for IE

Restart your browser by closing all your current browser windows. Then open a new browser window and try searching from Google Toolbar again.

If you're able to reach those websites, then you should have no problem searching from Google Toolbar. If you're still experiencing issues, make sure you're using the latest version of Internet Explorer. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer for your operating system at the Windows help site. After you've updated the browser, try searching again.

The issue may be associated with your Internet connection. Please check with your Internet service provider about the status of your connection.

The Toolbar Instant search feature could be a culprit of script errors. Follow the instructions below to disable Instant.

  1. Click the Toolbar's wrench wrench icon.
  2. On the General tab, under Search features, deselect the "Enable Instant for faster searching and browsing" checkbox.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Restart your browser for this change to take effect.

If you've already installed Toolbar but it's not showing up, try enabling enable add-ons by following the steps below.

  1. Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu, or press Alt-T on your keyboard.
  2. Select Manage Add-ons.
  3. If Google Toolbar, Google Toolbar Helper, or Google Toolbar Notifier BHO is disabled, select each add-on and click Enable.
  4. Click Close.
