Customize your Toolbar

You can customize your Toolbar and make it even more useful.

Change your Toolbar language

You can search in a different language or change the language of the text on your Toolbar.

Search in another language

You can choose to search country-specific versions of Google. For example: select Google.es for Spain.

  1. On your Toolbar, click Settings Settings.
  2. Click "Use Google site" drop-down menu.
  3. In "Search features,” select a country domain.
  4. Click Save.
Change your Toolbar language

To change the language of the text that appears on Toolbar:

  1. On your Toolbar, click Settings Settings.
  2. Click "Toolbar language" drop-down menu.
  3. In "Language setting,” select a language.
  4. Click Save.

See your Toolbar settings anywhere

You can save your Toolbar settings to your Google Account so you can see them on any computer.

  1. On the right of your Toolbar, click Sign In.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account.
  3. On the Toolbar, click your name or profile icon.
  4. Select Access your Toolbar settings everywhere.
  5. Click Yes.

To turn off, follow the steps above and select Restrict Toolbar settings to this computer.

Clear your Toolbar search history

You can clear your Google Toolbar search history at any time. You can also turn off Toolbar search history to prevent future searches from being stored in Toolbar.

  1. Go to the Toolbar search box.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow, and select Clear History.
I don't see Clear History in Toolbar

If you don’t see the Clear History link at the bottom of the drop-down, type a letter in the search box.

If you still don't see Clear History, you might not have any history to clear or you previously turned off Toolbar search history.

Turn off Toolbar search history

  1. On your Toolbar, click Settings Settings.
  2. Under "Search features,” uncheck Store search history on my computer.
  3. Click Save.

Clearing your Toolbar search history clears only the searches you've done in Toolbar. To delete your search and browsing history outside of Toolbar:

Delete your searches while signed in to your Google Account.

Delete your browser history in Google Chrome.

Delete browser data for Google Chrome.
