Toolbar disappeared
If you already installed Google Toolbar but you can’t see it, or it suddenly disappeared, try these troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: Turn on add-ons
- Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu, or press Alt+T on your keyboard.
- Select Manage Add-ons.
- Select Enable for Google Toolbar, Google Toolbar Helper, and Google Toolbar Notifier BHO. Note: You'll only see Google Notifier BHO if you're on Internet Explorer 7 or 8.
- Click Close.
- Look to see if Toolbar is now visible.
- If you still can’t see Toolbar, try step 2 below.
Step 2: Turn on the Toolbar in the "View" menu
- Click the Internet Explorer View menu, or press Alt+V on your keyboard.
- Select Toolbars.
- If Google Toolbar doesn't already have a checkmark next to it, check Google Toolbar.
- Look to see if Toolbar is now visible.
- If you still can’t see Toolbar, try step 3 below.
Step 3: Reset Internet Explorer settings
Important: These steps can affect many other settings in Internet Explorer, like privacy and security settings, as well as autofill information.
- Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu, or press Alt+T on your keyboard.
- Select Internet Options.
- On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
- Make sure you understand how your computer will be affected by reading the text on this page.
- Select the "Delete personal settings" checkbox.
- Click Reset.
- If you still don't see the Toolbar, try step 4 below.
Step 4: Re-install Toolbar
- Install Toolbar again.
- If you still don't see the Toolbar, try repeating the 4 steps outlined in this article.
