Toolbar disappeared

If you already installed Google Toolbar but you can’t see it, or it suddenly disappeared, try these troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Turn on add-ons

  1. Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu, or press Alt+T on your keyboard.
  2. Select Manage Add-ons.
  3. Select Enable for Google Toolbar, Google Toolbar Helper, and Google Toolbar Notifier BHO. Note: You'll only see Google Notifier BHO if you're on Internet Explorer 7 or 8.
  4. Click Close.
  5. Look to see if Toolbar is now visible.
  6. If you still can’t see Toolbar, try step 2 below.

Step 2: Turn on the Toolbar in the "View" menu

  1. Click the Internet Explorer View menu, or press Alt+V on your keyboard.
  2. Select Toolbars.
  3. If Google Toolbar doesn't already have a checkmark next to it, check Google Toolbar.
  4. Look to see if Toolbar is now visible.
  5. If you still can’t see Toolbar, try step 3 below.

Step 3: Reset Internet Explorer settings

Important: These steps can affect many other settings in Internet Explorer, like privacy and security settings, as well as autofill information.

  1. Click the Internet Explorer Tools menu, or press Alt+T on your keyboard.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
  4. Make sure you understand how your computer will be affected by reading the text on this page.
  5. Select the "Delete personal settings" checkbox.
  6. Click Reset.
  7. If you still don't see the Toolbar, try step 4 below.

Step 4: Re-install Toolbar

  1. Install Toolbar again.
  2. If you still don't see the Toolbar, try repeating the 4 steps outlined in this article.
