Add and sync Google Toolbar

You can install Google Toolbar on Internet Explorer to search Google from any webpage, fill out web forms, translate webpages, and more.

Install and sync the toolbar

To use Google Toolbar, you need a device with Windows XP, Vista, or 7+ and Internet Explorer 6 or up.

  1. Uninstall any older versions of Google Toolbar.
  2. Go to the Google Toolbar download page.
  3. Read the Terms of Service and click Accept and Download.
  4. If necessary, click to approve Google Toolbar to run on your computer.
  5. After you're finished installing, click Enable and then I agree.

Problems installing Google Toolbar

If you installed Toolbar but don't see it, try these steps.

Step 1: Check your view
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. To see the menu, press Alt.
  3. Click View and then Toolbars and then Google Toolbar.

If you still don't see Toolbar, close and reopen Internet Explorer.

Step 2: Turn on Toolbar add-ons
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. To see the menu, press Alt.
  3. Click Tools and then Manage Add-ons.
  4. Select Google Toolbar, Google Toolbar Helper.
  5. Click Enable.
  6. Click Close.
Step 3: Reset your personal settings
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. To see the menu, press Alt.
  3. Click Tools and then Internet Options.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Click Reset.
  6. Check the box next to "Delete personal settings."
  7. Click Reset.

Uninstall Toolbar

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Options Options and then Uninstall.
  3. Click Ok.
