Report phishing to Google

Identify phishing websites

Check website addresses or URLs to confirm they're really owned by the party represented.

For example, the URL for the Google homepage is http://www.google.com. Websites with URLs like http://www.google.com.fraudulentdomain.com/login.html or http://www.g00gle.com/ (note that this URL uses the number zero rather than the letter "o") are not owned by Google and are likely phishing websites.

Tip: Since forged URLs look similar to genuine URLs, it's safer to use bookmarks you've created or manually type URLs into your browser's address bar. This is especially important for websites where you're asked to sign in or provide private information.
